Good Morning respected Principal Sir, Teachers and all my dear friends.
Today, I am going to speak about National Science Day. We all know that National Science Day in India is celebrated on 28th February every year. We celebrate this day to mark the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman.
On this day, 1928 Sir C.V. Raman announced his discovery. Sir C.V. Raman was an Indian physicist whose work was influential in the growth of science in India. He is a great inspiration for young minds. Raman effect was an important discovery in the field of Scattering of light. In 1930, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the great ‘Nobel Prize’. He was also awarded the Bharat Ratna in the year 1954.
Sir C.V. Raman was the first Asian person to receive the Nobel Prize in the field of science. The celebration of national science day aims to spread awareness about the importance of science in day life and recognize all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare.
Every year, the day is celebrated with a particular theme. So, this year the theme of national science day 2024 is “”Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat“.
